In recent years, our main transformer and the various power plants change during overhaul, transformer oil leakage found the following reasons:
1, rubber seal failure and weld cracking

2, sealants member aging, cracking, deformation

The quality of the sealant member depends on its oil resistance, poor oil resistance, aging fast speed, particularly at high temperatures, the aging rate is faster, easily cause numbered seals aging, cracking, metamorphism, deformation, and even failure, resulting in transformer oil leakage.
3, the transformer manufacturing quality
Transformer in the manufacturing process, multi-tank joints, weld length, welding difficult, welding materials, welding (welding equipment classification characteristics) specification, process, technology, and this will affect the quality of welding, causing air hole, Weld, Desoldering phenomenon so that the transformer oil leakage.
4, plate butterfly poor quality
Another transformer leakage often occurs at the site of the valve plate, earlier production of transformers, the use of ordinary laminated valve connection surface is rough, thin, single seal, is out of product, can easily cause the transformer oil leakage.
5, improper installation
Uneven flange connections, the installation gasket four weeks not even by force; artificially bolt gasket four weeks non-uniform force; flange joint dislocation deformation, so that the force is too large security tie on one side, the side of the force is too small, side of the force is too small because of the amount of compression seal is easy to cause less leakage. This phenomenon occurred in the Buchholz relay connections and the radiator and body connections; Another point is that when installing the gasket, the compression is insufficient or too large, the amount of compression is low, the transformer operating temperature oil thinning, resulting in transformer permeability, the amount of compression is too large, the gasket deformation serious, accelerated aging shorten life.
6, shipping improper
Shipping and construction components during transport collision and improper lifting and transportation, causing bruises deformed parts, weld open welding, cracks, etc., causing leakage.
